Cliff and Prue are a brother-and-sister folk duo from Ely, Cambridgeshire, whose musical partnership has been shaped by a lifetime of shared songs, stages, and stories. Older brother Cliff is the principal songwriter and guitarist, first drawing his younger sister Prue into his bands during their teenage years. That early collaboration eventually led to the formation of The Willows, alongside Jade, Ben Savage and Steve Maclachlan — a band that has gone on to earn a strong reputation on the UK folk circuit. Prue now performs as violinist with the highly regarded Freds House, while Cliff continues with The Willows and a range of other projects include function work with Ward and Webb and Jade Rhiannon.
Together, Cliff and Prue create music that sits comfortably between folk, indie, and pop, blending traditional roots with classic songwriting influences — from Bob Dylan to John Butler Trio and John Martyn to Coldplay. Reviewcorner.org described Cliff’s writing as “robust and solid folk/pop tunes.” Audiences can expect soaring violin lines, intricate and expressive guitar work, and songs that linger long after the final note — intimate, melodic, and quietly powerful performances that invite listeners in and leave them wanting more. https://www.cwguitaracademy.com/cliff-n-prue

Kevin Pearce hails from Colchester. Three years ago, Kevin suffered a heart attack (on a golf course). As well as having to redress some lifestyle habits, his rehabilitation involved writing and recording the Sun Cutter project. It is an album of beautiful driving, harmony-drenched indie-soul and folk-rock that looks to the light for reflection. Co-produced with Dean Honer (The Moonlandingz, Eccentronic Research Council), it is at time reminiscent of some purveyors of classic songwriting, such as Tim Buckley, John Lennon, Cat Stevens, albeit with a modern do over. He was also the vocalist and guitarist on I Monster’s “Daydream in Blue”, recently resurrected to advertise Magnum ice creams on the telly.
Galvanised by glowing reviews for their collaborative 2023 solo albums ‘Wave Machine’ and ‘All My Days’ and following their marriage in late 2023, Kelly and David Booth formally combined their musical talents to create contemporary folk duo Kyson Point. They write and perform stirring vignettes of the natural world and human vulnerability. Kelly’s songbird vocals and lyrical piano blend with David’s shimmering guitar and compelling voice, often evoking Laurel Canyon and Crosby Stills Nash harmonies, alongside compositions more firmly rooted in UK soil.
Their first album ‘Underwater Sky’ was released in November 2025. “High-quality songs... excellent vocal harmonies... such a fine album.” (RnR magazine), “The perfect pairing of David and Kelly's voices... here they soar... recalling the classic 70s lushness of Prelude and Crosby Stills And Nash” (Fatea) http://kysonpoint.com/
Matt Reaction is a one-man person from Suffolk. He was formed in 1975 and lost his common sense when it rolled under the Pick ‘n’ Mix in Woolworths.
His ever-expanding repertoire includes songs dedicated to musicians from the Suffolk music scene (Seymour Quigley, Belinda Gillett, Iain Watson, Gaffa Tape Sandy, Edenveil), getting sued by Noel Gallagher, the orange man-baby Donald Trump, his uncle, rubbish A14 drivers, antihomophobia, antiracism, improvisation and encouraging talent. Just the usual stuff really.
Mel & Marcel Alt Pop Duo
During the pandemic Mel, a former songwriter and West End performer in The Rocky Horror Show, started writing comedy sketches and songs to help cheer up lock down spirits with the aid of her musician and producer husband Marcel and the internet. After Covid, Mel and Marcel continued their journey with live gigs and films that illustrate their songs, producing and recording from their home a former Georgian pub in Manningtree Essex.
“Our quirky songs are all about life, waiting at stations looking for missing trains, coping with noisy families, celebrating Essex girls, going to funerals, anxiety. These songs are comments on life for all ages and reflect our experience of being parents and having had a life lived on the London art scene. As we get older and have more space, we are loving playing live and the reaction from the crowd as they smile in recognition of our stories being everyone’s stories.”
We are looking forward to future projects and a cameo appearance by Mel & Marcel in a new feature film Love Without Walls by director Jane Gull soon to be released.

Formed in 2017, Nomad is a group of three musicians with a wide range of influences. Our first album, called “Turning Point”, released in 2021, contained exclusively original material and was built on more groove based jazz, in keeping with the origins of the band. However, we were already exploring other directions. As a result, the second album, released in 2025 and titled "See The World", again contains original compositions, but these are now a much truer reflection of our love of music from around the world and contemporary jazz from America and Europe and establishes the band's new approach.
Now embarking on our eighth year we have performed at The Minak Theatre, Mevagissey Shanty Festival and in 2023 at the prestigious Port Isaac Shanty Festival. We are also regular performers at the Harwich International Shanty Festival, we've sung at the Cutty Sark Shanty Festival and other festivals throughout Norfolk.
We have gained an enviable reputation for singing traditional, and not so traditional shanties and songs of the sea in our own unique style
We are incredibly proud of one Crew member who we think is the only British Sign Language signing shantyman in the country.
