onboard:earth Launches ‘Canopy & Coast’ to Give Event Organisers a Direct Route to Local Nature Restoration
Leading advocates for sustainable travel in live events, onboard:earth, unveils Canopy &
Coast, a high-impact environmental program, designed for event organisers who want to
fund local and UK-wide nature restoration and support climate justice internationally,
without the administrative headache of carbon auditing.
Recognising that collecting and analysing travel data for accurate offsetting can be challenging,
onboard:earth has developed Canopy & Coast, allowing events to balance travel impacts with
immediate, tangible habitat restoration.
The Canopy & Coast nature restoration program includes UK tree-planting projects that can be
chosen locally to the event, ensuring a visible, lasting legacy in the region. The program also
helps to restore the UK’s marine ecosystems, and protect international rainforests.
Canopy & Coast costs organisers nothing and makes climate action effortless for audiences. By
adding small donations to tickets or car passes, from 25p to £5, every attendee helps protect
nature – with no extra clicks, choices, or admin.
Early adopters include From the Fields for their Northern Lights events (Leeds and Manchester);
by adding a small mandatory car park levy, donated to Canopy & Coast, they aim to fund 500
trees to be planted locally, 1500 trees planted by communities in the Global South, protect 500
acres of threatened rainforest, and restore UK seagrass marine ecosystems.
Ben Robinson, Director of From the Fields, comments:
“At From the Fields we’re proud to back Canopy & Coast – and we think our audience will love
seeing how small donations add up to make a real, collective impact. “
Canopy & Coast is designed for event producers who want to acknowledge their environmental
impact, build trust through verified schemes, and share relatable stories with their communities,
without entering the complex world of traditional carbon offsetting.
For event organisers on the path to Net Zero or requiring verified carbon offset onboard:earth’s
existing ‘Trees+’ scheme will continue to run alongside the new program.
